Technical support is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year for customers of Port City Web. We recommend calling the toll free number below and leaving a message on our tech support voicemail, which then pages our technical support team. A representative will call you back as soon as possible - typically in a few minutes. Please note that we implemented the tech support voicemail system to filter out sales calls and calls from non-Port City Web customers. This will allow us to better serve Port City Web customers.

Some frequently asked questions:
Question:
Do you offer spam and virus filtering?
Answer:
Yes. We offer 2 layers of spam and virus filtering. While both are very effective, we cannot guarantee that spam or an infected email will not slip through. We recommend that PC and Mac users run current anti-virus software.
Question:
My ISP makes me use their SMTP mail server for sending mail. Other than webmail, do you offer a work-around so I can use my mail server hosted with Port City Web?
Answer:
Yes. Port 587 has been established and widely adopted as the alternative port for use to send email from your email program. Please consult your mail program user guide or help files for specific instructions on how change your software from using port 25 to port 587.
Question:
What are my mail server settings?
Answer:
When an account is setup, we email you that information. Please make sure you save that email for future reference. Email settings are typically:
Outgoing mail server: YourDomainName.com
Incoming mail server: YourDomainName.com
Username: your complete email address, like: me@mydomain.com
outgoing authentication is required
(YourDomainName.com should be relaced by your actual domain name)
Question:
What is the URL/link to read my mail from a web browser when I'm not at my computer?
Answer:
The link is http://www.your-domain-name.com/mewebmail (replace "your-domain-name" with your actual domain name). You can also use this link http://www.portcityweb.com/mewebmail
Question:
Why do I have to leave a message for tech support? Why don't you answer the phone right away?
Answer:
We use to answer the phone right away, but 9 out of 10 calls were sales people trying to sell us something. It became costly and time consuming, so we implemented a sophisticated voicemail system that pages tech support when there is a new message waiting for them.
Question:
Do you offer a control panel that I can use to manage my website?
Answer:
No. We offer a control panel to manage your email accounts, but we will not offer a control panel to manage your web hosting. To ensure quality control on our servers, and very high uptime, all requests to make changes to permissions on websites must pass through your project manager or technical support. Each request will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
Question:
Do you rent your servers from some other company and have to call them for tech support? Are they in your office?
Answer:
No. We purchase our servers from Dell, and collocate them in a state-of-the-art data center in Portsmouth, NH.
